Management Team


Thi Nguyen-Huu
President and Chief Executive Officer

Thi Nguyen-Huu is President and CEO of WinMagic. He founded the company in 1997 with a vision to create encryption solutions that could meet the most demanding data protection requirements of governments and enterprises.

Under Nguyen-Huu’s direction, WinMagic has demonstrated consistent growth, leadership and innovation in its market space, becoming an international organization with presence in dozens of countries and millions of seats of software deployed. Nguyen-Huu’s original software design was built on open standards including Public Key Cryptographic Standards PKCS-11; this has enabled SecureDoc to be extremely adaptable, rapidly responding to unique customer requirements and supporting new technologies. In addition to his technical innovation, Nguyen-Huu also champions the culture of customer service at WinMagic.

WinMagic is Nguyen-Huu’s third successful venture. Prior to forming the company, he founded two consulting firms that provided software solutions for industrial process automation. Born in Hue, Vietnam, Nguyen-Huu is a graduate of the Technical University in Konstanz, Germany, and began his career as an applications engineer with Siemens AG. He is married with four children, and resides in the Greater Toronto Area.


Garry L McCracken
Vice President, Technology Partnerships

Garry McCracken has more than 25 years of experience in data communications and information security. He has been responsible for the development of WinMagic's full-disk encryption solutions for desktops, laptops, and PDAs. More recently he has focused on forming partnerships to incorporate new technologies into WinMagic solutions. Prior to working at WinMagic, McCracken was vice President at Kasten Chase, a publicly traded technology company, where he played a key role in assuring the company's compliance with strict security standards imposed by the Canadian and International Industrial Security Directorate. He has also made significant contributions to the company's research and development program, custom development services, and its ISO-9001 certified quality system. McCracken has worked on many projects with influential security organizations including the Communications Security Establishment and, in particular, managing the development of remote access data security solutions for the U.S. National Security Agency’s RASP program.

McCracken holds an Honours, Co-op, Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. He furthered his education by successfully completing CATA's Certified Advanced Technology Manager program, writing the BS 7799-2 Information Security Management System Auditor exam, and obtaining the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation from (ISC)2.


Justin Anthony Nguyen
Chief Strategy Officer

Justin Nguyen has developed a considerable reputation as a designer and manager of complex organizational structures. He is dedicated to the rapid roll-out of globalization and has pioneered many innovations and creative solutions to help executive teams be all that they can be.

Justin brings more than 18 years of experience in executive management to WinMagic. His business acumen was instrumental in developing partnerships with key decision-makers and business leaders in the high-tech industry. Justin served as Chairman, President & CEO of NextChoice Inc., a startup technology company in New Hampshire. He was VP of Business Development at Widcomm Inc., later acquired by Broadcom-BRCM, and as VP of Strategic Planning at NeoPoint.

Justin started his technical career by working with a variety of leaders in the field, including Xilinx, IBM, National Semiconductors and Conner Peripheral. He holds a Bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California (Davis), and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Personal interests include Coaching Science Olympiad, golf, soccer, skiing and spending time with his extended family in California.


Liz Scott
Vice President, Marketing

Liz Scott has over 20 years experience in senior marketing roles in a variety of software organizations. Throughout her career Liz has been instrumental in developing and executing global marketing strategies for organizations such as Unisys Canada, Bell Mobility and Kaval Wireless. Prior to joining WinMagic Liz held a senior marketing role at Good Technology where she lead a number of initiatives to position Good as a key industry leader in mobile security management.

Liz holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto and is a member of good standing in the American Marketing Association.


Mark Hickman
Senior Vice President, Global Sales

As Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Mark is responsible for direct and channel sales, professional services, and global business development. Joining WinMagic in 2010, Mark brings over 15 years of software sales experience. Prior to joining WinMagic, he held senior sales management positions with Computer Associates (CA), BEA Systems Inc., and RightNow Technologies.

Mark has been building strong sales teams for the past decade. He has consistently built new business and has grown organization’s revenues extensively.

Mark holds a BA majoring in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.


Martin Wülfert
Advisor to the Board

Martin Wülfert is Advisor to the Board at WinMagic. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT both on the user side of IT solutions as well as in the software industry.

Martin started his career in object oriented analysis, designing and programming in his own start-up company. After being hired by his largest customer, he was asked to become the CIO of Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) Animal Health. His mandate was to implement a user-friendly and modern worldwide IT infrastructure. In 1998, Martin moved to Australia/New Zealand to act as integration manager for two acquisitions. Following that, he returned to Germany to head up the Novartis Animal health business.

In 2002 Martin took over as CEO of Utimaco safeware AG, a publicly traded security software company. During his seven years at Utimaco, he successfully expanded the company internationally, evolving it into a global encryption leader with an industry-leading portfolio. While under his guidance, the company value increased more than 40times. In 2008 the company was bought by the Sophos Group.

Martin holds a Master in Theoretical Physics of the University of Basel. He is married with two children and resides near Frankfurt in Germany.


Michael Inglis
Vice President, Finance

A Chartered Accountant since 1987, Michael has 10 years experience working with software companies. As Vice President, Finance, Michael devotes much of his time working with sales, legal and contract administration, and is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and planning, risk management, insurance and tax matters.

Michael has enjoyed working with small to mid-sized businesses in the IT sector. Prior to joining WinMagic, Michael held the position of Vice President Finance at BlueCat Networks, Whitehill Technologies and InSystems Technologies. Prior to his career in the IT sector, Mike held a number of increasingly responsible finance positions with Unilever, one of the world’s largest consumer products companies. He received his CA designation while articling with KPMG, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.
