WinMagic Integrates Rainbow's iKey Authentication Token with SecureDoc Disk Encryption Software for Secure PC Boot-Up System
First USB Authentication Token with Full Disk Encryption Software that Supports Rijndael AES 256 Bit Algorithm
CARDTECH-SECURTECH CONFERENCE, NEW ORLEANS, LA, April 22, 2002 - Rainbow eSecurity, a Rainbow Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: RNBO) company and a leading provider of content and transaction security solutions for the Internet and eCommerce, today announced that the iKey 2000 Series USB Web authentication token will fully integrate with SecureDoc disk encryption software version 3.1 from WinMagic Inc. Together, the iKey 2032 with SecureDoc provide a powerful solution for securing access to encrypted hard drives, acting, in effect, as a PC "ignition switch" that only allows client boot-up if the iKey is enabled in the client machine's USB port.
Rainbow's iKey 2032 token integrated with SecureDoc disk encryption software permits only authorized users to boot up their PCs or notebook computers authenticating and authorizing users for secure access to their encryption hard drives. This provides an added measure of security, especially for mobile workers who have a higher risk of having their notebooks lost or stolen. According to IDC, Rainbow Technologies' iKey is the world's leading USB authentication token with a 35 percent market share.
"By working with Rainbow to integrate SecureDoc with iKey, we continue to show our continued commitment to advancing security options for our customers and providing the strongest possible security solution for safeguarding sensitive data," said James Armstrong, vice president of business development, WinMagic. "Rainbow's iKey is the world's leading USB authentication token and one of the few that offers users FIPS 140-1 level 2 certification that our customers look for in a two-factor authentication solution."
"Win Magic's integration of iKey for SecureDoc disk encryption software is yet another example of the versatility that iKey offers for today's security-minded organizations," said David M. Lynch, vice president of marketing, Rainbow eSecurity. "Our partnership with WinMagic shows our commitment to using iKey as an access tool for secure content whether it's on a hard drive or secure access to Web-enabled applications."
The iKey 2032 and WinMagic's SecureDoc version 3.1 have been specifically designed for use in PKI environments where on-board private key signing and storage is critical. Both SecureDoc and iKey support enterprise, business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications built on all major PKI systems including: Entrust, CA eTrust PKI, Microsoft (Internet Explorer and Outlook), Netscape, Baltimore, Xcert, Verisign, CyberTrust, Check Point, Aventail, KyberPASS and many others. The iKey 2000 works out of the box with all of these PKI environments. The iKey 2032 is FIPS 140-1 Level 2 certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The iKey 2032 was recently modified for Windows 2000 security for European environments.
