WinMagic Releases SecureDoc Version 3.32
Mississauga, Ontario, December 4, 2003 - WinMagic Inc. has released SecureDoc version 3.32. This new version includes increased support for tokens and smart cards, file encryption for use with non-SecureDoc users, among other new features. Below is a list of new features in Version 3.32.
- Support for Tablet PC
SecureDoc now works with Fujitsu-Siemens Tablet PCs. SecureDoc boot logon provides on-screen keyboard for the keyboardless Slate Tablet PCs.
- Enhanced Disk Access Control on Removable Drives
Lock removable drives: SecureDoc now allows access control on all newly inserted removable drives. In previous versions, SecureDoc did not have access control on USB drives which were not inserted at the time the disk access control was set.
- International Keyboard Support
Improved boot code to handle more keys on international keyboards.
- SecureDoc GINA
SecureDoc GINA has several minor improvements. Users can now configure SecureDoc GINA to wait until the smart card driver is ready.
- RAID / SCSI Disk Support
Increased compatibility for a wider range of RAID / SCSI disks.
- ActivCard and Schlumberger Token Support
Increased compatibility for ActivCard and Schlumberger hardware tokens.
- Spyrus Smart Card Support
SecureDoc now supports Spyrus smart cards and USB tokens. All methods 1,2,3,4 and "key file on token" are supported.
- Eutron USB Token Support
SecureDoc now supports Eutron USB tokens. RSA keys up to 2048 bit are supported. Not all methods are supported.
- Datakey and iKey Support
Improvements to speed up boot logon time for Datakey and iKey 2032 tokens with method "Token contains PIN".
- SecureDoc File Encryption
Now allows encryption of a file with several keys; any of the keys can access the encrypted object. In addition, a user can use password to access encrypted files. Passwords are used for the SecureDoc FileViewer mentioned below to allow non-SecureDoc users to be able to access the encrypted files.
- Addition of SecureDoc FileViewer
The FileViewer application allows non-SecureDoc users to read files encrypted by SecureDoc. The sender must add a password to encrypt a file for the FileViewer to work on the recipient's computer. This application might be downloadable free of charge from WinMagic web site in the near future. Export restrictions still apply.
