Insite’s geoOps™ Force Tracking System (FTS) has been certified by
the National Security Agency (NSA) for processing information up to
and including NATO RESTRICTED.
Developed in collaboration with WinMagic, geoOps FTS will enable
multi-national forces to operate together in providing Friendly
Force Tracking (FFT) in the operational military environment. This
FFT capability provides commanders at all levels with exceptional
situational awareness and the ability to more effectively conduct,
command, and control operational maneuvers. geoOps FTS significantly
enhances warfighters’ Situational Awareness, facilitating Joint
Maneuver, Logistical Support, Force Multiplication, improved Joint
Synchronization and Force Protection. By seamlessly integrating
mission planning, transportation control, dispatching, text
messaging and movement monitoring in near real time, geoOps
increases troop safety by expediting the identification of friendly
versus enemy forces to help prevent fratricide or “blue-on-blue”
conflict.
Due to the sensitive nature of the critical operational information
utilized by the geoOps FTS, the system will need to operate at
classified levels, including NATO Restricted. The NSA’s
certification assures that geoOps FTS is compliant with that
requirement.
One of the key components of geoOps FTS’ security
architecture is WinMagic’s SecureDoc full-disk encryption software,
which protects sensitive information stored on the mobile terminals
traveling in the ISAF vehicles. SecureDoc provides this protection
by employing authentication from password and PKI commencing right
at pre-boot time and by encrypting all data stored on the terminal.
Using Public Key Cryptographic Standards PKCS-11 from the ground up,
the SecureDoc line has earned an impressive list of validations
including NIST Cryptographic Module Validation and FIPS 140 Level 2.
