Major highlights in SecureDoc v5.3 SR2

  • OS X 10.7.4: Added support for upcoming release of OS X 10.7.4
  • Standardized Drive Identification for SEDs: Updated Hardware Password Manager to recognize the new ATA standard bit for hard drives and solid state drives (SSDs) to identify themselves as Self Encrypting Drives (SEDs).
  • Motion Computing J3500: Added touch screen support for the Motion Computing J3500 at pre-boot.
  • Motion Computing F5v: Added touch screen support for the Motion Computing F5v at pre-boot.
  • Multiple File/Folder in RMCE: Users can now add or remove multiple files or folders at once.
  • Default Key file logon: Addressed issue where pressing ‘enter’ at preboot would enable user to log-on to default key file.
  • F12 Browser Disable: Added ability to make the disable an optional feature.
  • DataKey 330: SecureDoc now has 2048-bit certificate support.

The following properties need to be set in the following UI: Control Center -> Boot Control:

1. Under the “General Settings” tab: set Special Ymode: 04

2. Under the “Tablet PC” tab: select Tablet PC support to be “Motion Computing J3500”

Users can now add or remove multiple files or folders at once, where previously it could only be done one file or folder at a time.

Corrected issue where some USBs keys that couldn’t be recognized would delay boot time.

Corrected issue where when a Token-based keyfile password was recovered, the password expiry would randomly reset.

Corrected issue where the Idopte smart card was causing the Boot logon environment to fail to authenticate and then eventually crash.

Linux

Linux is only supported on devices using SEDs via SecureDoc OSA. With the introduction of SecureDoc OSA all versions of Linux are now supported.

Added support for Mac OSX 10.7.4. Users are required to install the SecureDoc 5.3SR2 update for Mac before they upgrade to 10.7.4. Failure to do this may cause system instability.

SecureDoc migration from 5.2 SR4

Corrected issue where upgrades from SecureDoc 5.2 SR4 were failing. The user will now be able to upgrade from SecureDoc 5.2 SR4 to SecureDoc 5.3 SR2 without any issues.

Support for Kingston Data Traveler 6000 Secure USB Flash Drive

Corrected issue where the Kingston Data Traveler Secure USB Flash drive would not be mounted after installing SecureDoc for Mac

LIN-1297

Support for multiple Network interface cards (NICs)

Fixed an issue in the pre-boot networking (PBN) environment where Mac machines would not work if there was more than one network adapter in the system. Now, in a system with two NICs, if the user wants to select the second NIC (which in most cases is the wireless NIC), they need to take one of the following actions:

Either:

1. Hit F12 when entering the user (keyfile) name

or

2. Press and hold the ‘shift’ key after entering the password and while hitting the ‘Enter’ key
